The Problem
The stigmatization of cannabis has changed allowing accessibility to those in need of medical cannabis. However, with the ever growing interest in cannabis, there is a plethora of misinformation and lack of immediate accessibility to medical cannabis. Consumers often turn to self medication, which can lead to unnecessary doses of cannabis, and self research which can be time consuming.
User Research
The user research process was driven by a commitment to understanding the needs, preferences, and challenges of the target audience.
Surveys were meticulously designed to collect quantitative data, providing valuable insights into user demographics, behaviors, and preferences.
User research placed a strong emphasis on understanding the diverse needs of users, ensuring that the platform is accessible to individuals with varying abilities.
Efforts were made to include a diverse range of users in the research process, ensuring the platform is designed to meet the needs of a broad user base
User personas were not only informed by qualitative insights but also validated and enriched by quantitative survey data.
“I do feel with proper use it can be beneficial to your wellness.. Like If you do it before yoga or meditation or even a workout..so pll have really bad anxiety it helps calm them down but I feel for most cases it's abused. I've been around a lot of weed smokers and 9/10 they use it to get high and not use it with intention..”
”Now I currently have a medical marijuana .. my doctor has rescripted this for me and it he encouraged me to go to a dispensary, buy a product that has been evaluated to make sure it reaches all the standards and safe for me to take this in and I don't have to worry about being pulled over and the cops trying to arrest me or give me a ticket for misdemeanor or possession… is my right.. I’ll also visit states like Washington where it’s recreational and I'm not scared there..”
In regards to information about cannabis and legality: ”My only experience on getting information is asking the staff at the dispensaries .. what would you recommend , etc.. one of my friends has a strain app and is always looking up and I thought that was interesting. It listed all the effects and information.. that seems like an efficient way to look up information..”

Minor issues were noticed in terms of alignment in certain screens and steps were taken to adjust them afterwards
Participants made observations on spacing and alignment with some of the instructions in the prototype but felt that after completing the test, that it was a satisfactory
An error in design was noticed by a participant in which shadow was incorrectly used. Let it be known that it was corrected afterwards
Participants were pleased with the overall color story and the intuitive flow of the prototype
